Diving in Cozumel

Some popular spots for diving in Cozumel that feature amazing scenery are Santa Rosa, Palancar, Paraiso, Punta Sur, Yucab, Cordona and Maracaibo. Cozumel is famous around the world for being an excellent place for experienced divers. The waters around Swallows' Island are an incredibly beautiful natural aquarium and the western side is an intricate reef system where some of the reef is still alive, while other parts are petrified, both above and below the surface of the calm waters.

Cozumel Diving

This is an ideal shelter for the most diverse and beautiful marine species including turtles, sharks, rays, dolphins and a myriad of polychromic fish. Due to the prevailing current this part of the reef is very popular among drift divers.

A little further out, the continental talus plunges abruptly down to 500 feet in some places, creating a wall of blue shadows, home to the strangest life forms. In some places the wall leans towards the island, creating the sensation of actually swimming under it. Cozumel is famous world-wide for this incredible wall.

Favorite places because of the stunning environment and great diving are Santa Rosa, Palancar, Paraiso, Punta Sur, Yucab, Cordona and Maracaibo, which is strictly for experienced divers.

Cozumel doesn't discriminate against those who haven't got their certification, in fact you don't even have to know how to swim in order to snorkel. In the open sea Fly Over Paradise and Yucab reefs, are among the nicest, just stay close to your group, which is supervised at all times by your guide. Also try the marvelous underwater park at the Chancanaab lagoon, truly an amazing experience.

Because of all these wonderful attractions, Cozumel is renowned as one of the best places in the world for diving. Welcome and get ready to be amazed.
