Built from the region's raw materials, the Tree Nursery has several goals for preserving nature while providing an educational forum for visitors.

Many endangered local species are grown here, all having a historical usage for the Maya even in the present day. Learn about ethno-botany and living history at the Tree Nursery in Xel-Ha.

Four species of mangrove are found at Xel-Ha, along with orchids, palms and medicinal plants. Cultivated in the Tree Nursery, the 20,000 plus plants growing at Xel-Ha, provide a habitat for the park's mammals, insects and birds.
