During its ninth run, the 2011 Riviera Maya Jazz Festival will be a fascinating display of musical talent giving life to the beautiful natural setting of Playa Mamitas in Playa del Carmen. From November 24 - 26, international artists will participate in this traditional festival held in the Riviera Maya, a Caribbean beach destination overflowing with natural attractions. This event has turned into a quality music festival as well as yet another of the attractions in the Riviera Maya. In addition to enjoying a variety of musical shows, concertgoers can also take advantage of their surroundings to explore the incredible tourism attractions of this important destination.
Jeff Lorber, a well-known composer born in Philadelphia, will continue Thursday's show. This talented jazz fusion keyboardist has earned a large following thanks to his original music combining complex harmonies and incredible rhythms.
The lineup for the second day of the 2011 Riviera Maya Jazz Festival includes musicians like Enrique and Fernando Toussaint. Together with Enrique Pat, they plan to perform a tribute to Eugenio Toussaint, one of the best Mexican jazz composers and musicians. The show on the 25th will also include John Anderson, vocalist for the progressive rock band YES. The final act of the evening belongs to Stanley Clarke, one of the most famous bassists in the world, whose artistic resume includes careers as a musician, arranger, music director and film composer, the perfect ending to an unforgettable evening.
The party will end with a variety of musical pieces creatively interpreted by the Yellowjackets, a famous US jazz fusion quartet playing out incomparable rhythms with drums, keyboard, saxophone and bass.
