2013 Riviera Maya Jazz Festival

Once again, the Riviera Maya is gearing up to host the 2013 Riviera Maya Jazz Festival, taking place from November 28th to 30th at Mamita’s Beach Club. This excellent event attracts renowned musicians and is one of the top attractions in the Riviera Maya.
Taking to the stage on November 28th is Aguamala, a band that originates from Playa del Carmen. Blending rock, jazz, funk, progressive-polka and regional Mexican, this band offers a unique style and adds a dash of improvisation to each of their performances. That same day, well-known guitar legend Frank Gambale will perform alongside special guest BOCA. Another successful jazz musician and composer performing on the first day of the festival is Brent Fischer, an artist who is acclaimed among both fans and critics of jazz because of the unique Latin style of his songs.
The following day, November 29th, will feature major artists including Scott Henderson, whose original style of playing the guitar has gained him the reputation as one of the world’s best guitarists. A legend on the electric bass, Jeff Berlin is regarded as one of the best electric bass players in the world and well known for entertaining audiences. Blending musical genres such as jazz-fusion, funk and Latin, Dennis Chambers is popular for his amazing technique and incredible ability to improvise. The pianist Jim Beard, and the Brazilian Ed Motta, one of the greatest talents of Carioca music, will also perform.
On November 30th, the final day of the 2013 Riviera Maya Jazz Festival, artists such as Celso Pina, a singer, accordionist and songwriter from Monterrey and a pioneer in the fusion of genres, such as reggae, rock, pop, danzon and bolero, along with the American jazz and fusion bassist Matthew Garrison, and the band Earth, Wind and Fire, will all come together to close this outstanding and long awaited festival.
